Thanks to James W. Bottoms of Vest Connection Travel Inc. in Maryland for the photos in this post.
The bowsprit net is one of the elements that sets Star Clippers apart from traditional cruise lines. Guests love the freedom of sailing along suspended 30 feet above the sea. The views are incredible -- you may spot a dolphin chasing the waves below or one of the incredible rainbows that always seem to follow or lead our beautiful tall ships.
Other incredible views from the bow are of the ship itself! It's funny how a little perspective can add another element of interest to your journey. Lay back and look up at the clouds and sails or look down upon the lovely figurehead. Or you could follow her lead and look forward to the course at hand.

Mary Stuart-Miller shared some fabulous and fun-loving photos from her recent Star Clippers cruise along the Amalfi Coast on Royal Clipper. In just a few shots she did a great job of capturing life onboard, from the congenial relationship of guests and crew to the excitement of sailing along in the bowsprit or launching the zodiacs for a little fun in the sun! Thanks for sharing, Mary.

"...I happily admit this sun-setting, daily hoisting of the sails, set to the dramatic strains of Vangellis’ ’1492′ brought a tear to my eye each and every sunset."

"Today is Tuesday and we are in our favorite port on our favorite island: Nelson's Harbor, Antigua.
We are having lunch at Cloggy's around the corner in Falmouth Harbor...We walked around Nelson's Dockyard and the yachts moored there are pretty amazing! There is a boat race as one of the sign ups on the boat.
...Steel drum band on board tonight, we love it!
Wonderful ship, wonderful crew and guests, what's not to love!"
