Guest Chef Martina Kömpel Sails on Star Clipper

Guests on Star Clipper's May 17th Northern Cyclades sailing were treated to a special cooking demonstration by the accomplished chef Martina Kömpel as the ship sailed between Cammilimani Beach and Kusadasi, Turkey.

Kömpel is originally from Germany and worked in television for years before deciding to pursue her dream of becoming a chef. She then moved to the city of lights and trained under chef Alain Senderens, one of the great French masters, at the renowned Parisian restaurant Lucas Carton.

Today, when she's not sailing the Med on Star Clipper, Kömpel cooks for the Ritz in Paris and appears as a judge on the show "The Kitchen Battle."

Onboard Star Clipper she taught guests' recipes and techniques for some of her favorite dishes including Roasted Lamb Chops with feta cheese, kalamata olives and smoked eggplant caviar; and Pain Perdu.
